The World Famous Comfort Café
Founded in 1922 by Albert E Puddlethorpe, The World Famous Comfort Café has enjoyed an often colourful and sometimes bizarre history.
Great people like World War II veteran fighter pilot Douglas Bader and Beirut hostage Terry Waite have been known to pop in for a cuppa, but more than ever it is the cafés popularity with people from all walks of life that makes it still loved today, just as much as it has always been.
More than a million people have been served in this great British roadside café and with it being so well located (on the A11, A505 & A1307 interchange) and so close to Cambridge we feel sure many more will stop by and will continue to do so for many more years to come.
The World Famous Comfort Café continues to be well loved, not just locally but right across the globe. People who visit ususally say it is still that old fashioned mix of history, value for money and the high quality of the food served that make this unique British cafe still so highly regarded today.
